    Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between emotional intelligence and communication skills with the mental health of employees of the General Department of Sports and Youth in Fars province. The design of the research is descriptive and correlational, the statistical population of this research consisted of all the employees of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Fars in the number of 120 people, of which 94 people were selected by random sampling. In order to collect information, from three emotional intelligence questionnaires, Bar-An (1997), Barton's communication skills (1990) and Goldberg's mental health (1972); Also, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The findings of the research showed that, among the dimensions of emotional intelligence, only two dimensions "regulation of emotions and general emotional intelligence" have a positive and significant relationship with the dimension of "social performance". Among the dimensions of communication skills, only the "listening" dimension has a positive and meaningful relationship with the "social performance" dimension. The predictor variables (regulation, productivity and evaluation of emotions) predict a total of 41% of the variance of the criterion variable (physical performance) and only "regulation of emotions and productivity of emotions" have a significant role in this prediction. The predictor variables (adjustment, productivity and evaluation of emotions) predict a total of 41% of the variance of the criterion variable (social performance) and only "adjustment of emotions" has a significant role. Multiple correlations between emotional intelligence components and "anxiety" are not significant. The dimensions of emotional intelligence do not have the ability to predict the variance of depression. Communication skills in total predict about 45% of the variance of the criterion variable (social performance), only the role of "listening" is significant. Also, communication skills do not have the ability to predict the variance of physical performance, anxiety and depression.

    1-1- Introduction

Efficiency and development of any organization largely depends on the correct use of human resources. As companies and organizations get bigger, naturally, the problems of this huge force are added. Managers try to constantly control their employees in connection with various issues. Managers think that when a person is hired in a place, he must accept all the conditions. Although today's employees are under a lot of financial pressure, most of their attention and desire is with economic issues. But gradually, employees are interested in doing meaningful work and want more job independence in their work, so that in this way they feel valued (Hosseini, 2018). The social nature of man requires that a person communicate with various aspects of society and groups within it. In today's societies, where new problems have arisen for humans at the same time as life becomes more and more complicated, the importance of communication increases. In such societies, communication is one of the most important factors of human development, excellence and success. As a social institution, the organization establishes a kind of organizational communication between people due to its basic goals beyond everyday communication (Ehsani, 2019).

Sport achieves success in the light of its compromising factors with other systems within the social system; Because sport is one of the typical aspects of the social system and a complementary part of the social context, and it is affected by all the factors and aspects that make up this system. Sports organizations are different from many other organizations. This distinction is mainly related to the programs and activities of physical education and sports, which have a wide spread in the society and their own complexities of implementation, and the scope of activities and the complexity of its programs are increasing day by day. As sports programs and activities expand, sports management also becomes complicated and different types of competencies and skills are needed for experts in the field of sports (Moradi, 1387).

In order to achieve predetermined and approved goals, sports organizations require the planning of subordinate units to achieve general goals in a certain time, which will ultimately play an important and worthwhile role in achieving these goals, especially in the operational and executive phase of employees. Acting in sync and on time, the annual sports calendar in which all the activities of sports boards and organizations are crystallized, is one of the most important responsibilities of employees. Obviously, having strong sports teams and elite athletes at the national level requires planning, evaluation and regular implementation by employees at all levels (Sajadi, 2016). They can have a positive effect on the recruitment, training and preparation of athletes as well as the continuous and regular holding of competitions. This is not possible except in the shadow of systematic and scientific planning. If proper planning is not done to establish sports goals, it will certainly result in high, non-targeted expenses, lack of physical and moral security, and other problems that will prevent the achievement of sports goals. Preparing and providing as well as optimal use of facilities, equipment and sports equipment is one of the abilities that can help the employees of the sports organization to interest and attract the participation of coaches and athletes as much as possible in sports activities and exercises in order to achieve the goals. Although the researchers have mentioned the various abilities and skills that sports experts have provided to be effective in carrying out activities, they all emphasized the quality and quantity of skills and communication abilities, which are an expression of the health level of employees (Froozesh, 2019). Therefore, the knowledge and awareness of the mental health of the employees of sports organizations and the explanation of the relationship between them and other individual factors (emotional intelligence and communication skills), which is the main goal of this research, can lead to findings that by identifying the levels of mental health of people, the factors affecting it in two directions (positive and negative) were taken into consideration and finally provided the causes of organizational effectiveness.

    1-2- statement of the problem

The continuous adaptation and compromise of humans throughout life with internal changes and changes in the surrounding world is undeniable; At the same time, his physiological and non-physiological needs are also met so that he can maintain his health in this world which is constantly changing. Unfavorable social and environmental conditions are one of the important factors of creating mental pressure that endangers mental health. Human health can be changed due to stress and imbalance in physical and mental state. Long and continuous stress in the work environment can lead to issues such as resignation, frequent absences, reduced energy and reduced work efficiency. The work environment and the level of stress caused by it can be effective in the health and satisfaction of people in addition to efficiency, and people who are under a lot of stress will generally have less health and satisfaction (Cartwright[1], 2012). 1381). The concept of mental health is actually an aspect of the general concept of health and refers to all methods and measures that are used to prevent mental illnesses. In defining mental health, the problem is that there is still no correct and acceptable definition for mental health. For example, the definition of the World Health Organization (WHO) [3] of the category of mental health is as follows: mental health is included in the general concept of health and means having the full ability to play social, mental and physical roles and not just the absence of illness or retardation (Hosseini, 2010). Problems will result in spending a significant part of the employees' intellectual power. As a result, they certainly won't have enough energy and interest to work in business. Changing relationships with colleagues and friends, daily behavior habits and loneliness also have an adverse effect on some employees.
